This is it! Call to Congress–Week of Action is just a few days away. This is YOUR chance to tell Congress that enough is enough. It’s time to make diabetes a national priority!
Each day next week, we’ll have a different call to action–each action will take just a minute or two of your time, but the impact will be massive. With one unified voice, we’ll deliver an unmistakable message to Congress asking for critical support and resources needed to bend the curve on diabetes and help families thrive. Here’s what to expect and how it will work:
- Monday 3/25: Call your U.S. representative and ask them to support funding for diabetes research and programs. You can dial the Capitol switchboard (202-224-3121) to connect directly and use our call script here to help with your conversations. call script
- Tuesday, 3/26: Take and/or share the Diabetes Risk Test. - Wednesday, 3/27: Email your members of Congress to ask them to renew funding for the Special Diabetes Program (SDP). - Thursday, 3/28: Flood social media with posts about the need to #MakeInsulinAffordable! Wear something red, snap a selfie, post your picture and a message to your member of Congress asking that they take action to Make Insulin Affordable. Don’t forget to tag your members of Congress and use hashtags: #ADACall2Congress #MakeInsulinAffordable
- Friday, 3/29: Help grow ADA’s Call to Congress advocacy initiative.
