Letter to
Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican
We the undersigned ask the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith/ Vatican to actively promote the work of Maria Valtorta (1897-1961), italian writer and visionary. Up to now the Congregation has more or less opposed the work by not mentioning it in any positive manner. In the last 50 years, the work, especially the story of Mary, Jesus and the Apostles (The Poem of the Man-God, Centro Editoriale Valtortiano, 1990, Isola del Liri) has won countless supporters in the Catholic World. In most of the readers it leads to a higher appreciation and better understanding of the Holy Gospel. Also the reading of these books has effected innumerable entries into the catholic church or revivals of the catholic faith!

Among the more famous supporters of the work are the following:

Pope Pius XII (Rome)
Mother Teresa (Calcutta, India).
Archbishop Pasquale Macchi (Rome), personal secretary to Pope Paul VI.
Archbishop Alfonso Carinci (Rome), secretary emeritus of the Congregation of the Rites.
Cardinal Edouard Gagnon (Rome), theological adviser during the Second Vatican Council.
Cardinal Agostino Bea (Rome), rector of the Pontifical Biblical Institute and adviser of the Holy See.
St. Padre Pio (San Giovanni Rotondo).
Father Gabriele M. Roschini, OSM (Rome), professor of the Pontifical Lateran-University, renowned mariologist, adviser of the Holy See, author of , Centro Editoriale Valtortiano (2000), Isola del Liri.
Father Gabriele Allegra, missionary (China), translator of the Bible into Chinese, in 2002 beatified by
Pope John Paul II.
Bishop Roman Danylak (Rome).
Archbishop Sosa Pakiam (Thiruvananthapuram, India).
Bishop Ugo Lattanzi (Rome), dean of the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Lateran-University, adviser of the Holy See.
Dr. Vittorio Tredici (Italy), geologist, mineralogist.
Jean Aulagnier (France), specialist in ancient calendars, author of , Kolbe's Publications (1988), Sherbrooke.
Father Fran%uFFFDois-Paul Dreyfus (Jerusalem), of the french biblical and archeological school Jerusalem (EBAF).

All of them highly appreciated the spiritual value of these books as they make the Gospel more vivid and comprehensible. At no point there is found a contradiction between the Holy Gospel and the visions of Maria Valtorta. In fact, the reading of her books causes a tremendous revival of faith in Jesus and a deeper understanding of Mary's role in the Catholic Church.

Maybe without the knowledge of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, these books are becoming international bestsellers among religious-minded readers, not only catholics. So the signers of this petition clearly ask the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to actively promote the dissemination of the Maria Valtorta books.
