Lisa Chase started this petition to Andrew Cuomo and

Our state legislature recently passed a congestion pricing plan, modeled after one that’s working well in London.  The plan will charge a fee of $11.50 for all vehicles entering or leaving Manhattan south of 61st street.  (The fees are earmarked to help fund the MTA.)

That means less vehicle traffic in our area.  So far, so good.

There’s one significant difference from the London plan, though, and it affects each one of us. In London, residents who live in the congestion pricing zone are charged a 90% discounted fee. That’s not the case in the current New York State proposal.

Even if you do not own or ever rent a car, this fee will affect you directly.

It will decrease the property values of homes and apartments in the congestion pricing area of NYC and it will increase costs to neighborhood businesses, which they will pass onto residents, commuters and visitors.

We have a small window of time to make our voices heard — as our petition drive ends on October 31st.  Please help us urge our elected legislators to follow the London model with a 90% discount for those living in the affected zone.

That’s why we’ve joined with dozens of neighboring buildings to create a petition that will be sent to all of our elected officials.  With numerous signatures, we can make our collective voices heard and make change happen!

PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION NOW TO REQUEST THE 90% DISCOUNT FOR RESIDENTS IN NYC.
