We the residents of Ramprastha Greens, Vaishali Ghaziabad are constantly plagued by the menace of stray dogs. There is a big population of stray dogs and some of the dogs are very aggressive. It is difficult to walk at night. Animal welfare activists have been working with great zeal and have got many dogs sterilized. But some 10 to 15 dogs still remain to be sterilized. Unless and until all the dogs are sterilized, any pregnancy may happen and the population may increase. 

In terms of Rule 6 (1) of Animal Birth Control (Dogs) Rules, 2001, the Nagar Nigam has the responsibility to provide for:

(a) establishment of a sufficient number of dogs pounds including animal kennels/shelters which may be managed by animal welfare organizations;

(b) requisite number of dog vans with ramps for the capture and transportation of street dogs;

(d) an ambulance cum clinical van to be provided as mobile center for sterilisation and immunization;

We request you to conduct a time bound drive to sterilize and vaccinate 100 per cent dogs in Ramprastha Greens. We also request you to shift the dogs dog shelters in terms of Rule 6 (1) (a).

We hope you will intervene personally to provide safe and healthy environment to about 20000 people residing in Ramprastha Greens.
