Thank you all for your support and concern!! Thanks to your signatures I was able to meet with Chancellor Yang regarding the status and nature of the project, and it has become clear to me that even at this early stage much progress and positive change had been made to the originally proposed concept. After speaking with the chancellor I have been given the impression that the proposed Munger dorms will in fact have dining commons, as well as the possibility of new classrooms and student resources such as in-building counseling centers. While the lack of windows in each bedroom is still concerning, it is too early in the developmental process to definitively campaign against, and I look forward to further discussing the project with the Chancellor as concrete models and renditions of the proposed living spaces become available.
