We, the community members, parents, and students of Clark County, oppose the adoption of CCSD's policy P-5138 (Addressing the Rights and Needs of Students with Diverse Gender Identities or Expression). We oppose the unethical and biased process used by CCSD in the development of this policy. We ask that the Trustees reject the adoption of this policy, and begin immediate revision efforts. During the revision process, we ask for the rights of ALL students to be recognized and addressed. Parents must be a part of this process! We ask that parents have a role in the revising of this policy, and are allowed to offer their input and perspective.

As stated on the CCSD website, "The Board of Trustees recognizes that its deliberative process benefits greatly from public input and perspective." We have given our input time and time again! When will the Board of Trustees start listening? Policy that does not recognize and acknowledge the rights of all, is not good policy! P-5138 needs to be revised to address the rights of all students.
