Please help us stop the CVS!  The plan is for the CVS to purchase the property that is presently Al’s Sunoco.  The oversized lot that Al’s Sunoco occupies is uniquely positioned in both Hopewell Township and Pennington Boro and zoned residential by both municipalities.  Al’s Sunoco predates the zoning laws and as such was grandfathered in.  This means that an application for a variance had to be submitted to the Township and may need to be submitted to the Boro.  As many neighbors know because they patronize Al’s, despite the fact that it is a service AND gas station; they operate primarily as a service station; receiving only a handful of gas customers daily.  They have reasonable hours with repairs being dropped off around 6:30/7 am and lights out by 6/6:30 pm.  CVS on the other hand would be open 24 hours a day as per their attorney and would have a drive thru pharmacy.  This means increased traffic flow at an already congested intersection.  Residents on Rout 31, Ingleside, Vannoy, Sked, Burd, Main Street & Pennington Washington Crossing would be deeply impacted.  We have no need for an additional pharmacy we already have 4 within a 1 mile radius and an existing CVS within 5 miles. There is a VERY important meeting on Wednesday, March 30th at 7pm before the Zoning Board of Hopewell Township where CVS will officially be heard on their application for a variance.  It is crucial that concerned residents of both Hopewell Township AND Pennington Boro be in attendance. Please sign this petition to show the board we do not support a 24 hour CVS in our neighborhood!
