Complete Sidewalks in The Oaks

The Issue

The Oaks is a community of approximately 1450 houses. The community is split between the city of Kissimmee and unincorporated Osceola county. Most of the community is not gated.

There are sidewalks in most of the community. But there are many important parts of sidewalks missing.

  1. Most crossings are not marked with lines
  2. Many crossings are not handicap accessable
  3. We are missing sidewalks in some areas that result in people walking on the road or on unlevel ground (and no handicap access).

We are asking the City of Kissimmee, Osceola County, Toho water, and Oaks Master POA to work together to install sidewalks in areas where we are missing them or where there are currently no plans to add them (see photos, missing sidewalks in purple

).  The specific areas are all along The Oaks Blvd, specifically in along the backside of hole 2 of the golf course,

Hole 2

both sides in front of the clubhouse,

and at the lift station near hole 12.

We ask that all crossings be handicap accessable and marked. This will help make our community safer.
