The proposal is to connect Highway 43 from Elkford, BC to Highway 40 in Kananaskis Country, AB.

Completing Highway 43 could accomplish the following:
1.) Easier access to parks and skiing in Alberta for BC residents (and vice versa)
2.) Second main route out of Elkford in the event of a natural disaster such as a large forest fire
3.) Faster route to Calgary, AB and all of its services for southeast BC residents
4.) Benefit the tourism, mining, and forestry industries
