Ban Payday Loan Apps in India

 

Demand a Complete Ban to Protect Citizens

 

We, the undersigned citizens, call upon the Government of India to impose a complete ban on payday loan apps in India.

 

Citizens have raised serious concerns about alleged recovery harassment, threats, misuse of personal data, contact-list abuse, and intimidation involving employers. Disturbing reports of people taking their own lives amid financial distress and alleged harassment have also raised grave concerns.

 

We acknowledge that borrowers have a legal obligation to repay their loans. However, repayment obligations can never justify illegal recovery practices, threats, or harassment.

 

There is also concern that complaints submitted through official portals are not receiving adequate consideration or meaningful action. Citizens deserve fair investigation and protection.

 

Our demand is not for partial restrictions or temporary measures.

 

We demand a COMPLETE BAN on payday loan apps in India.
