STOP THE BANK OF ENGLAND USING PALM OIL IN £20 POUND NOTES & THREATENING ORANGUTAN HABITAT
The Issue
The Bank of England is considering using palm oil for the new £20 note. Palm Oil growers were responsible for 8% of deforestation between 1990 and 2008 - destroying hundreds of thousands of acres of rainforest that was home to the orang-utan and other endangered species. As a result, the orang-utan is now on the critically endangered list. The Bank of England should be setting an example to the rest of the world, not accelerating species' demise. Please help us stop this stupid decision now by adding your name to this petition before it's too late.
