A House Arrest Request For Dominique Steele

Dominique Steele experienced his first heart attack at 32 years old in 2022. A widowmaker heart attack that could have stolen his life if he would of chosen to go to sleep that day. By May 2025 he had survived two heart attacks, a stroke, and heart failure before receiving a life-saving heart transplant. The first year after a transplant is the most critical. Without daily medications, weekly labs, and close monitoring, his body could reject the new heart.

Right now, Dominique is in Allegheny County Jail, where it is extremely difficult for him to receive the specialized care he urgently needs. Keeping him incarcerated could put his life at risk.

But Dominique is more than his past and charges. He is passionate about his family and giving back to the community. He has organized two community music festivals held to honor his uncle’s life where he provided free haircuts, food and activities for the youth. He also hosted a youth kickball tournament to bring young people together in a safe and positive way. Despite his struggles, he has worked very hard to lift others up.

Everyone that knows Dominique knows how much he loves being a dad. He is the father of two beautiful children: Amelia (1 year old) and Dominique Jr. (just 3 months old). Spending time with them and watching them grow brings him so much joy despite his battles with his health. They need their father alive and healthy.

Our Request

We are asking the Court to grant Dominique house arrest with monitoring. This would allow him to receive the medical care that keeps him alive, stay accountable under strict supervision plus be present for his two young children. Granting house arrest is not just an act of mercy but it is a matter of life or death.

We urge you to consider the extraordinary circumstances of Dominique’s health. His life has already been marked by challenges and health struggles beyond anyone’s control, and continued confinement will only threaten his well being plus future.
