Government help with energy bills is welcome news. However the issues with these measures are:

- Quick fix and not properly costed, reliant on borrowing and in the hope the economy is boosted by the announced tax cuts.

- Those out of work or not working will not benefit from tax cuts.

- The predicted UK and world recession will negate/suppress growth, so in 2 or 3 years time, we will be in more serious economic mess, than we are at present. The current measures proposed by the government to address the cost of living crisis are risky, may even prove reckless, and it will be all of us who foot the bill, once again the most venerable and the young generation of our society will suffer most. Those who are able to ride the current crisis may even end up being in a better economic health then now, so where is the sense in that, where are the measures from the government to create a level playing field, at present these measures do not look like achieving that. I hope I am proven wrong.
