🗳️ SUNSET CROSSROADS ELECTION UPDATE: THE COUNT IS NOT OVER!

Where Things Stand: Measures U, V & W
There has been some confusion circulating about the election results, so I want to share the latest information provided by San Gorgonio Pass Alliance, along with information on how Banning residents can follow the vote count themselves.

First and foremost, the election results are not final. Riverside County still has thousands of ballots to process and count. The Registrar of Voters has until November 25, 2026, to complete the counting of remaining mail-in ballots and cured ballots.

Until the count is complete and the results are officially certified, we cannot declare a final outcome.

📊 Where the Measures Currently Stand
According to the November 5 press release from San Gorgonio Pass Alliance, the latest reported unofficial results show:

Measure U (Industrial Rezoning): YES is leading.
Measure V (Residential Density Transfer): NO is leading.
Measure W (Development Agreement): YES is leading.

While YES currently leads on Measures U and W, NO continues to lead on Measure V.

Why is Measure V so important?

From the beginning, the strategy was clear: NorthPoint needed all three measures (U, V, and W) to pass, while opponents needed to defeat only one to challenge the project’s approval package.

Measure V concerns the transfer of residential development capacity to the former Mt. San Jacinto College site. According to the press release, if Measure V is defeated, the City will face significant questions about how it can proceed with the interconnected zoning approvals, even if Measures U and W ultimately pass.

If the current NO lead on Measure V holds, it could send the project back to the City Council for further votes and consideration.

This is an important development, but we must allow the remaining ballots to be counted before drawing conclusions.

I will continue passing along information provided by San Gorgonio Pass Alliance and independently monitoring the election results so I can keep everyone informed as new information becomes available.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this election and continues to follow the outcome. Your engagement matters, and we will continue to keep you updated.

PLEASE REMEMBER: THE COUNT IS NOT OVER!
We have come a long way, but we still need to wait for every eligible ballot to be counted and the results officially certified.
