🗳️ BANNING VOTERS: STILL UNDECIDED ON MEASURES U, V, AND W?

TARA HAGYEBanning, CA, United States
Nov 3, 2026

Before you cast your ballot, ask yourself: Are the long-term consequences of these decisions worth the trade-offs for our community?

Today is Election Day! If you’re still undecided, please take a moment to consider what’s at stake for Banning’s future.

Here are important reasons to VOTE NO ON ALL THREE MEASURES: U, V, AND W.

🔹 MEASURE U: MAJOR LAND-USE CHANGES

Rezoning approximately 392 acres from residential to industrial use for the Sunset Crossroads plan, involving nearly 5 million square feet of industrial development. This massive shift in land use raises serious concerns about increased truck traffic, air pollution, noise, and the long-term consequences for Banning residents and our quality of life.

🔹 MEASURE V: 41-ACRE MOUNT SAN JACINTO COLLEGE PROPERTY

Changes the property’s designation from public use to residential to compensate for residential land lost at Sunset Crossroads. However, there are currently no plans to build housing on this property.

🔹 MEASURE W: THE 30-YEAR DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT

Locks the City into a long-term agreement with negotiated financial terms, developer credits, and obligations that could have lasting consequences for Banning. Proposed community benefits do not guarantee projects will be built, and the agreement raises concerns about whether the terms adequately protect taxpayers and the community’s long-term interests.

WHY THESE DECISIONS MATTER

🔹 SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS

The project’s environmental review identified significant, unavoidable impacts involving air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, noise, and transportation. These impacts deserve serious consideration before decisions with lasting consequences are made.

🔹 LONG-TERM CONSEQUENCES FOR OUR COMMUNITY

The scale of this development and the terms of the 30-year agreement could affect Banning’s future for decades. Financial contributions and proposed benefits must be weighed against the project’s environmental impacts, traffic, and long-term obligations.

This isn’t about opposing every development. It’s about asking whether these particular measures are right for our community.

If you’re still undecided, please consider the consequences carefully.

🗳️ WE NEED YOUR VOTE! PLEASE VOTE NO ON ALL THREE MEASURES: U, V, AND W.

Every vote matters. Our community’s future is worth protecting.
