The Next Step: Banning City Council Meeting – July 14 at 5:00 PM

This Tuesday, July 14, at 5:00 PM, the Banning City Council will make an important decision regarding the Sunset Crossroads referendum petitions.
Now that all three referendum petitions have officially qualified, the ordinances approving the Sunset Crossroads project are suspended while the City Council considers its next step.
The Council must now choose one of two paths:
- Rescind the three ordinances that approved the project, or
- Place the ordinances on the November ballot for the voters of Banning to decide.
We encourage everyone who is able to attend this meeting in person. Your respectful presence sends a powerful message that our community cares deeply about the future of Banning.
If you are comfortable speaking during public comment, consider asking the City Council to rescind the ordinances.
Rescinding the approvals would:
- Provide an immediate resolution.
- Help bring an end to a source of division within our community.
- Avoid the cost of a citywide election.
- Allow the City to focus on its current management and fiscal challenges.
