The Issue

We, the undersigned members of the community, respectfully support Mr. Daniel Duvonne Cameron’s application for permanent residence in Canada on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.

Many of us have come to know Daniel through work, school, volunteering, friendship, and community involvement. He has consistently shown himself to be respectful, hardworking, compassionate, thoughtful, and genuine—a valued member of the Canadian community.

Daniel came to Canada from Jamaica in 2022 as a young international student, shortly after turning eighteen. He arrived hoping to build a stable and meaningful life and has since worked hard through education, employment, community involvement, and personal growth.

After graduating, Daniel secured lawful employment. He has demonstrated a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting himself through honest work and personal responsibility.

We have seen Daniel work hard not only to support himself, but also to become the person he hopes to be. He takes pride in his work, wants to build a productive future in Canada, and approaches life with humility, determination, and gratitude.

Beyond his employment, Daniel has contributed through volunteer and community involvement. He has served with Skills Canada Alberta as a Provincial Technical Committee member, supporting inclusive, educational, and professional initiatives.

These activities reflect Daniel’s genuine desire to contribute to Canadian society and support the communities that have welcomed him.

One of Daniel’s most admirable qualities is his kindness and sincerity. He treats people with respect regardless of background, identity, or circumstances, and he often supports others quietly without seeking recognition.

We have also witnessed significant personal growth in Daniel during his time in Canada. Despite emotional hardship, difficult family dynamics, and other struggles before coming here, he has shown remarkable resilience.

Canada has given Daniel the opportunity to grow emotionally, personally, and socially in ways that may not have been possible otherwise. We have seen him become more confident, hopeful, and comfortable with who he is.

Daniel arrived in Canada during a critical stage of his life, and much of his transition into adulthood has taken place here. Canada is where he gained independence, pursued his education, entered the workforce, built meaningful friendships, and began shaping his future.

Daniel’s sister, Kaycia, who also lives in Canada, has been an especially important source of emotional support and stability. The support system he has built here is central to his sense of belonging and well-being.

By contrast, Daniel has very limited emotional support in Jamaica, including no relationship with his father and strained family ties. Returning would mean losing the life, relationships, opportunities, and stability he has worked hard to build in Canada.

We are deeply concerned about the emotional and psychological impact Daniel would face if removed from Canada. Forcing him to leave would uproot the support systems and community ties that have helped him grow into the responsible and hopeful young man we know today.

We firmly believe Daniel reflects many qualities that Canada values. He is hardworking, respectful, community-minded, resilient, compassionate, and eager to contribute. Daniel is not seeking compassion because he refuses to work hard. He has already demonstrated his willingness to work, contribute, and persevere despite significant personal challenges, and he hopes to continue building the life he has begun in Canada.

Canada would benefit from allowing Daniel to remain permanently. He is still young, has significant potential, and we believe he will continue to contribute to his workplace, his community, and Canadian society.

We respectfully ask Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to consider Daniel’s application with compassion and humanity. He has built a meaningful life in Canada, and allowing him to remain permanently would preserve the stability and progress he has achieved while enabling him to continue contributing positively to the country and communities he now calls home.

We wholeheartedly support Daniel Duvonne Cameron’s humanitarian and compassionate application for permanent residence in Canada.
