Our lovely pig is at risk of euthanasia due to the SPCA enforcing ridiculous rules. This pig has been a part of our family for nearly 3 years and has always been loved and cared for more than anything in this world. He is one of the best companions we have ever had. This all started because a courier who comes to our place once a week that does not see any of the love and time we devote to this pig decided she would repeatedly report that she thinks he is being deprived and his enclosure isn’t up to her standards. Any one that knows us and has met this big fella knows how much he means to us and how well he is treated. It’s honestly sad that the SPCA who should be out charging and prosecuting people who neglect and beat their animals are saying that this pig should be put down because he chooses to stay somewhere that doesn’t “fit their standards”. He’s a wild pig ffs he enjoys the mud and grows a winter coat to keep him warm. My family made an enclosure that fits their standards and the pig doesn’t want to go in it and is obviously happy where he is yet for some reason these people who are suppose to protect animals think that he should be euthanized rather than left to enjoy the life he has. I have seen him turn down a dry hard ground to sleep in the dirt many of times, why? because he is a pig not a human and that’s where he is designed to live
