The Problem:

The intersection of Ellenberger Street and Stals Road has become a serious danger zone for our community.
Residents have witnessed regular accidents involving cars, cyclists, and even pedestrians. Poor visibility, speeding, and the lack of proper traffic control have made this crossing one of the most unsafe spots in our area.

Every week, we see near-misses and collisions that could — and should — be prevented.

Our Call to Action:

We, the concerned residents of Bloemfontein, urge the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality and the Traffic and Roads Department to take urgent action to make this intersection safe for everyone.

We request the immediate implementation of one or more of the following measures:

Speed bumps or rumble strips to reduce speeding
Clear, visible signage warning drivers to slow down
Traffic lights or a four-way stop to manage flow and reduce risk
Regular traffic enforcement during busy hours & A pedestrian crossing

This is not just about vehicles — it’s about people.
Families, schoolchildren, and everyday commuters use this intersection daily.
Taking action now can prevent serious injuries or fatalities in the future.
