Petition Update 6/10/26: Grange Requests Response to Concerns; County Review Underway

Thank you to everyone who attended the Grange meeting yesterday and to those that spoke out. The strong turnout demonstrated the depth of community concern about the proposed cell tower and the process that has brought us to this point.

Update from the Grange Meeting (June 9, 2026): The Grange voted to ask Vertical Bridge/Verizon whether they will rescind the lease agreement based on the numerous mistakes and procedural issues that occurred before the contract was signed. While this does not guarantee any change in the project's status, it is an acknowledgment that serious concerns have been raised, including concerns that the contract was signed without proper authority and that the community does not support the project. These concerns deserve a response.

Unfortunately, Vertical Bridge filed its land use application on June 3, 2026, meaning the formal county review process is now moving forward.

County Update (June 10, 2026): The application has been assigned to a planner under Case No. T2-2026-0029. The county is currently conducting a Completeness Review, which is expected to be completed by July 9. Once the county determines the application is complete, it will issue an Opportunity to Comment (OTC) notice. At that time, public comments will become part of the official record and will be reviewed by county staff as part of their decision-making process.

Please do not send letters or comments to the county at this time. 

The formal public comment period has not yet opened. We will notify everyone as soon as the Opportunity to Comment is issued and provide guidance on how and when to submit comments so they are included in the official record.
