Petition Update 7/22/2026: 🎉 WE WON: Vertical Bridge Withdraws Cell Tower Application!

Thanks to the incredible support of everyone who supported this cause, signed and shared this petition, we have a victory to announce!

With the backing of the local neighborhood community, a legal complaint was filed by two individual grange members July 8, 2026.  As individual members, the plaintiffs were entitled to bring a derivative action on behalf of Sauvie Island Grange No. 840, since the Bylaws were violated and the contract was signed without proper authority.  The legal complaint was filed against the current Sauvie Island Grange president and Vertical Bridge.  In response, Vertical Bridge has terminated its cell tower lease with the Sauvie Island Grange and has formally withdrawn its application with Multnomah County.

This outcome reflects what a unified community can accomplish. The opposition made clear that this project would not go forward without a fight — and that pressure worked.

Thank you to everyone who signed and shared the petition, spoke up, showed up to meetings, and helped fund this legal effort. Your voices made a difference and this win belongs to all of you.

We’ll be closing this petition in the coming days. Until then, we’ll continue to share any updates here if anything changes. For now, though, the proposed cell tower is off the table!
