We, the undersigned residents of Runcorn, respectfully petition our elected representatives and local authorities to oppose the proposed development of a children's care home at 3 Stockham Close, Runcorn WA7 2PA.

While we recognise the importance of providing support to vulnerable children, we strongly believe that this particular location is unsuitable for the following reasons:

Stockham Close is a quiet residential cul-de-sac, home to families and elderly individuals. Introducing a facility intended to house children who may pose a risk to themselves or others creates legitimate safety and wellbeing concerns for existing residents.
The street lacks the infrastructure, access, and professional supervision capacity to safely support such a high-needs care facility.
There has been no meaningful consultation with local residents, leaving the community feeling excluded from decisions that affect their safety and daily lives.
The placement of an institutional care home in this location is likely to disrupt the community, increase risk, and decrease the residential value and appeal of the area.
We call on our MP and Halton Borough Council to:

Reject or rescind any planning permission or licensing approval for this proposed development at 3 Stockham Close;
Engage in full and transparent consultation with residents on this matter;
Work to identify alternative, more appropriate sites better equipped to serve the needs of vulnerable children in care.
