Mise à jour sur la pétitionCOMMUNITY PETITION FOR SAFER PEDESTRIAN CROSSING AT 15TH & ASHProgress at 15th & Ash — Safety Improvements Moving Forward

Thanks to continued community advocacy, the City has completed an engineering review of the 15th & Ash intersection.

Here’s what that review includes:

Analysis of five years of crash data
Recommended additional signage and pavement markings
Removal of the stop bar on the 15th Street leg of the intersection
Consideration of Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) — a highly effective pedestrian safety measure

The City has confirmed that:

Signage and pavement markings will be installed as materials are received and weather permits
The City is actively assessing grant funding options for RRFB installation
Pre-construction engineering is already underway for RRFBs, with funding to be finalized once that work is complete
This is meaningful progress, and it happened because residents spoke up and stayed engaged. While work remains, this confirms that pedestrian safety at 15th & Ash is being formally addressed.

Thank you to everyone who signed, shared, and supported this effort. Continued visibility and follow-through matter — and we will keep the community informed as updates are provided.
