On July 3, Carolina Wildlife Rehab was called to a neighborhood because a neighbor had threatened to kill a family of swans on the lake because one pooped next to their pool and they walked on their lawn. There were two parents and four babies. We came to an agreement that we would remove the four babies and the parents would stay even though I had hoped we would’ve been able to relocate the entire family so that they could stay together until the babies for old enough to fly away.

On July 30, they came down to help capture the babies and take them home. The babies have since been rehomed. It has always been a concern that parents would be killed because of staying there and my worst fear became reality when They received a message telling Kim(rehabber) that the mom had been shot and killed. She was able to get the body and do a necropsy to find out that she had been shot with. The male is still out there and in the last month his entire world has been destroyed. Sadly he is pinioned which means he is unable to fly because he had bones removed in his wings to make him unflighted so he would be unable to leave the lake. 

He is all alone now, he deserves to be with the rest of his family or atleast in a spot where no one has to worry about something happening to him. Please sign so we can get Iggy the swan out!
