The Issue

YouTube is allowing people to post videos showing clear and illegal animal abuse such as eating animals alive, putting animals purposely in dangerous situations, etc.

In today’s generation, we are using the internet a lot more than the past generation. To make steps in a better direction, YouTube needs to:

  • Have a warning system that informs the user that if their content violates their guidelines or has inappropriate content, their video will be taken down and reviewed by staff members and then forwarded to law enforcement if the content depicts illegal content
  • The button to report animal abuse should be easier and quicker to find when a viewer is wanting to report videos
  •  The staff should review the reported videos immediately, then if it doesn’t violate their guidelines, then the video will be left alone

Animal abuse/cruelty is NOT for people's entertainment/enjoyment. It is cruel and shouldn't be able to be viewed by millions of people world wide.

Social media plays a big role in today’s youth.  The use of social media can negatively impact their development by exposing them to inappropriate violent content.  Repeated exposure to violent content can cause children to display violent behavior, desensitization to violence, fear or even nightmares.
