The Issue

As Lakeville, MN residents and community members, we have great concern for the rezoning request which recently came to many residents attention for the 20.06 acres east of Holyoke Ave, west of Highview Ave, north of Heritage Dr. While we love that Lakeville is growing, this growth should be done with great care, caution and concern for community members.

Altering those 20.06 acres currently zoned for low density, to change and allow medium density housing poses many issues and concerns for traffic, infrastructure, school capacities impacting neighboring homeowners, business owners and establishments.

Before any amendment or rezoning of this land is even considered, we as Lakeville community members and residents request that the City require and publish the below:

School Capacity Impact Study (ISD 194)

Traffic Impact Study (TIS) & Solutions for Traffic flow this will create

Water/Sewer Capacity Analysis

Storm water Management & Downstream Capacity Modeling

Publicly release of all studies with time for community review

Requiring this information before any consideration to potential re-zoning is done will provide responsible, data-driven planning consistent with Lakeville’s policies, long-term needs and safety in the community.

We ask all of this in accordance with the City of Lakeville's Motto, that you "provide the foundation for healthy neighborhoods and successful businesses by investing in comprehensive planning, high-quality and efficient services, citizen participation, and effective partnerships."

Respectfully, all who have signed this petition. Thank you.
