With sad news - we have confirmed that the Commonwealth bank ATM was officially removed tonight Monday the 23rd of August from our suburb in a swift operation by a team of workmen between 7-9pm. This leaves Summer Hill a population of over 8000 no institutional ATM left!
Response from CBA has come in to some who lodged formal complaints with a response indicating that there was nothing the bank could do and that to simply use the ATMs at Ashfield and Leichhardt as an alternative. There was meant to notification of removal of the ATM but the only notice residents got was on ATM receipts.
This fall short of the promise made to MP Jo Haylen to relocate the ATM should the building be replaced and it certainly falls short of the message on the CBA billboard nearby that the 'Heart lives here'.
