Petition updateCommon Sense for Little Downham - Reclassify Land as a Residential GardenIMPORTANT UPDATE: New Evidence Strengthens Our Case

We've submitted crucial new evidence to the Planning Inspectorate that directly supports our appeal against East Cambridgeshire District Council's refusal.

What we've discovered:

In 2016, the Council granted permission for the property next door (21B Cannon Street, Ref: 16/01346/PDR), confirming their land extends to the exact same drainage ditch that marks our southern boundary. The Council officially recognized this as residential curtilage - not agricultural land.

Why this matters:

The Council is now treating our identical land differently, claiming it's "agricultural" to give us a planning application process that was predestined to fail.  This is inconsistent and discriminatory. Their own previous decision proves the land should be classified as residential curtilage.

Next steps:

We've requested the appeal procedure be changed to Written Representations, as this new evidence resolves the core dispute over our land's legal status. The facts speak for themselves - no hearing is necessary.

We still need your support! Your signatures demonstrate community backing for fair and consistent planning decisions. Please continue sharing this petition as we work toward a just outcome.

Thank you for standing with us.
