First Real Madrid European Cups Rules:

- Real Madrid always participates.

- The rest of the teams selected randomly, not even the best of each country.

- Composed by only 7 matches.

- No more than two clubs per country.

- Created by L'Équipe with Santiago Bernabéu

- No more than 16 teams participate.

 

UEFA Champions League Rules:

- Real Madrid has to deserve it to participate.

- Only the best teams of each country participate.

- Composed by three qualifying rounds, Playoffs, Group Stage, Knockout phase and Final.

- Until four teams per country could participate.

- Rules developed by UEFA.

- 77 teams participate!

 

The question is, why we are counting firsts Real Madrid cups as Champions if they are totally different? Should it not have a separation, wouldn´t it be more fair for every team? What Real Madrid did to deserve the meaning of having 5 consecutive Champions if they didn´t?
