Change the Child support, ATO and Superannuation Laws

Change the Child support, ATO and Superannuation Laws
The issue
My ex started out as a good husband and a good father and then without warning he took off. Since 2011 he has made many choices in life. He came back to see the children and then in 2014 he chose his life over theirs permanently. He broke off all contact and stopped paying child support. He has had many jobs since and won’t update with the CSA. He has not done tax since 2013/2014. What he fails to remember is this doesn’t impact me. It impacts the children. They miss out on basics. They miss out on the emergency orthodontics they both need. And why? Because 1 parent chooses to be a deadbeat and be selfish.
Changing the current laws in several departments would be amazing for thousands and thousands of struggling single parents who are facing the daily struggles we do.
The laws need to change for the collection of child support through the Child Support Agency. Debts should not be allowed to build up to the amounts they do with limited forms of collection. Don’t write to an employer and request they pay on a payees behalf. CSA needs to be able to step in and take the money each week or fortnight, plus arrears owed.
The ATO needs to change their laws and complete non paying parents of child support tax returns. Some people avoid doing their returns so they can evade paying support. This is a huge problem and if changed it means money from tax returns could go towards reducing child support arrears.
Superannuation laws need to change to be able to access the Superannuation now and not upon retirement. If a person is willing to create a child or children then they have to be prepared to support them. Waiting 20+ years to receive the money when they access their super upon retirement is ridiculous. The money is needed now to support the child/children.
Children don’t ask to be born but they deserve to be supported by 2 parents. A parent chooses not to be in a child’s life. They choose their life over their children’s. They make choices to not pay support or do their tax. My ex is a good example of this.
Its about time we take a stand against these departments and fight for the laws to change. We are our children’s voices and we need to take the choices away from the deadbeat parents and make them take responsibility.
Please sign this petition so we can put it to the correct authorities. Share this as much as you can with your family, friends and as many people as possible. The more signatures the better.
