SE Austin ETJ needs to enact a noise ordinance that reflects the increase in population density, recognizing SE Austin is no longer a rural area where pop-up gun ranges, and outdoor music venues are allowed to operate at all hours, which harm the quality of life for residents, including those not in the ETJ who are disrupted by music venues within the ETJ.  We are homeowners, renters, single people, married couples, parents, and we come from all walks of life.  We pay property taxes, and expect to be able to live in peace in our homes.  That should be a right, regardless of the side of town we live on.  We the residents of SE Austin, are asking for a more effective noise ordinance law to be put in place (below the current threshold which is basically non-existent), so residents of SE Austin can live in peace in our homes.  We will vote for whoever will do the work and put in the time to enact change so that we are represented.

Another neighbor adds:  Pop-up businesses creating noise and disturbance will discourage other legitimate businesses from moving to the area, and increase drunk driving from large events.
