Dear Commissioner Ken Russell,

As residents of the Brickell area we are requesting your assistance in making some much needed changes to the Brickell Park @ 1814 Brickell Avenue.

We need to make this park safer and more family friendly so that all our residents and visitors can enjoy it safely. The park needs these changes:

1. Extend the fenced area to include the tables and open green space - make it safe and create a barrier to protect park goers from Brickell Avenue traffic.

2. Change playground structure to be more age inclusive (2-12 YO). The current play structure is not appropriate for younger children.

3. Install awning to provide shade to playground area to protect park visitors from extreme UV rays and to protect play structures from extreme heat.

Commissioner we are a community looking for positive change and to make the Brickell area a family friendly environment. We are counting on your help to make these changes and we know you are committed to parks and making the lives of residents a better one.

Please consider this petition as an urgent request from Brickell residents desperate for appropriate green space to spend time with family and friends outdoors.
