Thanks to the concerned Villagers who met with City Manager, Shannon Lavrin and other City Parking representatives our concerns have made their way to the appropriate places!

The City is indeed concerned with the parking situation the Village is facing at the moment and are working on immediate, mid-term, and long-term solutions. The immediate solution that went into effect yesterday is the city has lifted the monthly parking on The Branwood lot (located behind Oxford Barber) adding 22 free spaces. The mid-term solution is that the city is going to work to lease the land between Perry and Branwood to create surface parking.  Then a longer-term plan will be to turn this surface parking into a parking garage- which they will need to budget for. The Village Business Association is also currently in discussion with private lot owners to assist with Village employee parking and we will update as we know more. 

We feel good moving forward that the problem presented is making it's way through the appropriate channels and the urgency of the matter is being taken into consideration. We want to thank everyone who has signed and shared and given their energy to helping this community up until now. This petition was able to acquire not only over 1k signatures but meetings with the city in a matter of days. That's incredible! Keep signing and sharing and loving on this special place <3
