Commission adult ADHD services in Northern Ireland!
The Issue
Across Northern Ireland, thousands of adults are living with potential Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
People with ADHD can live with restlessness, may have trouble concentrating or focusing, may act on impulse or can become overwhelmed with the world around them.
In a recent response to Peter McReynolds MLA, the Health Minister confirmed 'there are currently no regionally commissioned services for adult ADHD and therefore no requirement Health and Social Care Trusts to manage an ADHD waiting list'.
We urgently need the Health Minister to commission these services and to implement an ADHD Strategy to support those seeking a diagnosis, their treatment and to care for them.
Join me in calling on the Health Minister to urgently commission these services to give comfort, support and help to the thousands of adults in Northern Ireland living with this condition but feeling completely alone.
