CommInsure have taken 3 years to pay a claim for permanent disability. An insurance company should pay the insured when the claim is lodged, or say why it has been declined.

The issue

With the settlement my son and his family can fix up their home, and enjoy a better quality of life. Getting a payment from an insurance company should not become a hastle. It is a big part of life, however when a company tries to  shirk its responsibilities by delaying payment, it becomes odious.

My son is only 29 and to see him deteriorating while he waits for his payment is distressing to us all. The psychological effect on him is perhaps worse. He was a strapping young man who engaged readily with his family, but over time has succumed to  constant pain due to rheumatoid arthritis which began in one toe. Now it affects every joint in his body. To look at him he seems OK, until he tries to do something involved with lifting or bending. He was a carpet layer for several years, but now to even repair his own carpet is nigh on an impossibility.

Please support this petition. I sold insurance for 40 years and it irks me that my own family is apparently being shafted by a company that will not pay an obviously legitimate claim. Please pass it on to your mailing list.

The photo above was taken 4 years ago when his daughter was 1 year old. Today he is much less robust. Recently on Change.Org I have signed 2 petitions over insurance claims not being paid for years, and both were successful, so perhaps this will be as well
