WE ARE OPEN, BUT OUR FUTURE IS AT RISK!
For eight years, A Haunting in Hollis has been a beloved Southeast Queens Halloween tradition, attracting thousands of visitors, creating jobs, supporting local businesses, and bringing our community together.
BUT WITHOUT REZONING, OUR FUTURE REMAINS UNCERTAIN!
Our property is currently zoned residential, forcing us to obtain a Temporary Use Permit from NYC every Halloween season.
This lengthy, expensive, and unpredictable process has repeatedly delayed our season, including this year, resulting in financial hardships, lost revenue, and fewer employment opportunities.
WE CANNOT CONTINUE OPERATING UNDER TEMPORARY PERMITS YEAR AFTER YEAR!
OUR SOLUTION: PERMANENT COMMERCIAL ZONING
We are pursuing a C2-4 commercial zoning overlay to establish a pathway toward permanent authorization for our attraction.
With the appropriate zoning and city approvals, we can:
Eliminate our dependence on annual Temporary Use Permits.
Protect and expand local employment opportunities.
Introduce year-round entertainment and attractions.
Invest in property improvements, new experiences, and upgraded attractions.
Continue supporting Southeast Queens businesses and our community.
