Wyatt Gillete is the son of Jeremiah Gillette, a United States Marine. He is currently in the hospital fighting for his life. He has Aicardi Gutierrez syndrome with trex 1 mutation. Currently his kidney is having problems, but unfortunately, due to his condition, he is not able to have a transplant.
I have talked with Jeremiah, and he is in the best spirits he can be in, given the situation. As a fellow Marine, it truly touched my heart to hear his story. Which is why I have decided to push to make Wyatt an Honorary Marine.
In order for Wyatt to be awarded with this title, the Commandant of the Marine Corps must approve it. I truly feel that Wyatt has faced more hardship than any Marine has gone through, and for that should be given the title. I have seen more Marines come together because of him, and feel he has truly earned the right to be among the best fighting force in the world. I am asking for people to sign this petition, to help bring attention to the Commandant, in the hopes he is kind enough to approve Wyatt with this award.
Thank you to the Mendleton foundation and ABC7 for helping to support this cause.
