Actualmente somos más de 300 cubanos en Trinidad y Tobago que están viviendo los peores momentos de sus vidas, madres con niños que no tienen educación, padres de familia que no tienen acceso a trabajar dignamente y legal , quiere decir que en Trinidad y Tobago no se otorga permiso de trabajo, no hay acceso a hospitales salvo que llegues con peligro para tu vida solo así te atenderán, solo por no haber nacido en este país (Trinidad and Tobago) no hay acceso a nada de lo básico dictado en la carta de La Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos, además de que no tenemos posibilidad de insertarnos en la sociedad de Trinidad y Tobago dando como resultado no tener un reasentamiento firme en el país, incluso después de solicitar un dialogo con la UNHCR , Living Water e inmigración para llegar a un acuerdo sobre soluciones a nuestros procesos, Al cual fueron negados a dicho dialogo y tenemos pruebas sobre eso. Todos, absolutamente todos somos vulnerables en estas condiciones que vivimos aquí, debido a que ningún inmigrante tiene derecho al trabajo legal bajo la legislatura de Trinidad y Tobago, la mayoría de los cubanos nos convertimos apátridas automáticamente luego de 24 meses fuera de nuestro país según la ley no 302 modificativo 1312 articulo 9.2 de inmigración en Cuba. Muchos estamos expuestos a desalojos, asaltos, violación, incluso trata de humanos, todo por querer lograr un sueño de libertad y vivir dignamente.

Ya hay muchos cubanos con más de 1,2, 4, y hasta 6 años en esa situación, a pesar de que estamos por el proceso de refugio no tenemos el seguimiento deseado por el mismo, los solicitantes de refugio hacen expresar que fuimos dejado a nuestra suerte, pues en ocasiones seguidas, las inquietudes a las instancias van, pero o bien las respuestas no llegan o se recibe contestación automática e impersonal sin leer cada caso, y las llamadas telefónicas no son atendidas. En las calles se respira xenofobia y la violencia va en crecimiento cada día más contra nosotros, todos estamos acogidos a la ACNUR (organización que se ocupa de darle protección a los emigrantes y siendo Trinidad y Tobago signatario del Protocolo de 1957 y del Convenio de 1961 de la UNHCR. ) pero en realidad no hace bien su trabajo o mejor dicho no trabajan con los cubanos como es debido, solo queremos criar a nuestros hijos sin miedo, legales en un país donde estemos en pleno derecho a la vida, y conforme todos nosotros estamos en Trinidad y Tobago porque salimos buscando libertad y derechos ya que en cuba eso es imposible debido a las persecuciones en contra de los ciudadanos cubanos que piensen diferente al gobierno, muchos se revelaron en Cuba pero no tuvieron otra opción que salir de Cuba, solo pongo en sus manos humildemente el destino de nuestras vidas solo somos cubanos que queremos ser escuchados, gracias por tomarse su tiempo de leer estas palabras, gracias de todo corazón.

We are all, absolutely all of us vulnerable in these conditions that we live here, because no immigrant has the right to legal work under the Trinidad and Tobago legislature, most of us Cubans automatically become stateless after 24 months outside our country according to the modifying law no 302 1312 article 9.2 of immigration in Cuba. Many of us are exposed to evictions, assaults, rape, even human trafficking, all for wanting to achieve a dream of freedom and live with dignity.

There are already many Cubans with more than 1,2, 4, and up to 6 years in that situation, although we are through the refugee process we do not have the desired follow-up for it, the refugee applicants express that we were left to our luck, because on occasions in a row, the concerns to the instances go, but either the answers do not arrive or an automatic and impersonal answer is received without reading each case, and the telephone calls are not answered. In the streets you can breathe xenophobia and the violence is growing every day more against us, we are all sheltered by the UNHCR (an organization that is in charge of giving protection to emigrants and Trinidad and Tobago being a signatory of the 1957 Protocol and the 1961 Convention of the UNHCR.) but in reality they do not do their job well or rather they do not work with the Cubans as they should, we just want to raise our children without fear, legal in a country where we have the full right to life, and according to all We are in Trinidad and Tobago because we left looking for freedom and rights, since in Cuba that is impossible due to the persecutions against Cuban citizens who think differently from the government, many revealed themselves in Cuba but had no other option than to leave Cuba.
