The quickly evolving supply chain has caused a strain on the tiniest Americans by limiting a most valuable commercial resource, infant formula. According to a Wall Street Journal report there is up to a 20% shortage on powdered formula, sterilized pre-made formula, and formula concentrate.

We are urging American leaders to begin constructing legislation that prioritizes infant formula as it is crucial to the survival of many children. By communicating with manufacturers and creating programs that provide emergency assistance via formula distribution to areas most affected by shortages, we can ensure food security for infants who rely on formula.

Increasing transparency on responsible peer to peer milk sharing will assist in ensuring parents are making informed decisions about their feeding options.
