Taguig, being a bustling area in Metro Manila, is not immune to these practices. Local governance must work transparently, with accountability, and align itself with the interests of its citizens, overcoming corruption.

Advocating for a transparent governance structure should be our immediate step. We urge the local government in Maharlika Village to establish an independent anti-corruption unit to investigate and act upon any report of corruption seriously. Regular audits should be conducted, making the results accessible to the public to ensure transparency. Furthermore, there must be strict penalties for any official found guilty of corrupt practices, setting a precedent and a warning to deter others.
