Columbia University, Stop Destroying Neighborhood Gardens!

Columbia University, Stop Destroying Neighborhood Gardens!

The Issue

On August 26, 2016, Columbia University destroyed the 113th Parking Lot Garden, a garden loved and used by neighbors, the Tompkins Hall preschool children and many others.  No warning was given and no trees could be saved.  The community is dismayed by Columbia's needless and unexpected action and demands that Columbia devote resources to returning the garden to its previous condition.  We demand that Columbia recognize the 113th Street Parking Lot Garden as a community garden.
