The developers of this project want to change the “country life style” we enjoy, to a life style similar to the overly congested style recently adopted by Spring Hill. Our country roads are busy enough with the traffic we have. This new development will add hundreds more vehicles on our streets, not including the construction traffic. Do you feel safe entering or exiting Nashville Hwy from Greens Mill or Double Branch Road? This development will only make it worse. Road improvements will only make our TAXES go up, regardless of what the developer says. This will also affect YOU if you live on Les Chappell Rd. or Sam Johnson Rd.

The developer wants his property to be annexed by the City of Columbia, Tn. This will allow the developer to depend on City services for WATER and POWER. We already have a problem getting water to this area. The City says our roads are wide enough to support more traffic, but they do not live on these roads. Do YOU feel safe walking on our streets with the existing traffic? Do you feel safe having your children wait for the school bus early in the morning, then exit the bus after school?

Double Branch Road supports farming and ranching and has for many years. Our road is barely wide enough for 2 tractors to pass. It is barely wide enough for our School Busses. The existing SPEED limit is 35mph, and no one abides by this now. What is going to happen with hundreds more vehicles?

We live in this area because it is “COUNTRY.” Don’t let the City bring their way of life to our area just so they cam make MONEY. Don’t change our way of life. Don’t let the City stop our hunting and shooting just so a developer can make money. We don’t need almost 700 new homes in our area. It is not just the new homeowners but their friends and family who will drive our roads.

WE already live here, STOP THIS ANNEXATION and STOP this REZONING before it is TOO LATE.
