Reminder that Councilor Keith King's Town Hall Meeting Monday, March 14, at 6pm. Broadmoor Community Church, 315 Lake Ave. Phone: (719) 385-5470 E-mail: Kcking@springsgov.com Can't make it? Let him know your thoughts, but we encourage everyone to show up in force. We are told that a group will have the opportunity to present, and people will not be cut off or limited to 3 minutes. Here's an opportunity to be a Superhero! Surprisingly enough, the hazardous waste, namely fictitious refrigerators and mythic pits of broken glass seem to be continuing to come up and has made an impact with some decision makers which we have dispelled -- still, Parks has been asked to investigate and respond. We cannot have children being trapped in refrigerators or falling into pits of broken glass. It seems they didn't take these assertions seriously either as no plan of action has been implemented to investigate and remove asserted public hazards. Teams of people have been on the hunt, for weeks, for this hazardous waste to no avail. That said, feel free to do your own investigation or ask Parks when they might have this safety liability resolved or assure the public that asserted hazards are not, in fact, real. Karen Palus' email is: kpalus@springsgov.com Surveillance cameras are being installed on Old Stage and signs will be mounted in hopes of catching the alleged perpetrators. Another reminder to take the unscientific survey hosted by the city -- if you haven't taken it, here's the link: https://coloradosprings.granicusideas.com/surveys/proposed-land-exchange In the meantime, we leave you with a fitting video which gives a great illustration of hazardous waste dumps and some real world trash problems as well as inspiring words....enough of the hazardous waste nonsense. Strawberry is about as pristine as a park can be. All the hurt, all the lies All the tears that they cry When the moment is just right You see fire in their eyes 'Cause he's stronger than you know A heart of steel starts to grow When you've been fighting for it all your life You've been struggling to make things right That's how a superhero learns to fly Every day, every hour, turn the pain into power Continue to be the superheroes each and every one of you are. Keep speaking up - strength in numbers.
