Though the news has been circulating since last Friday, by now, most people have heard that the Trails and Open Space Coalition, our great defender of open spaces and preserver of parks has announced support for a deal with no appraisals, questionable recreational value of a large chunk of the new park land being offered (Muscoco) that no one seems to want and no concrete plans for the large piece of historic Cheyenne Canon they believe we should privatize (wait, isn't that an open space?) - and home to a thriving wildlife population. Nor were there any attempts to find alternative routes like, for example, using TOPS to purchase the trail easements which are estimated to be worth about $52,000 -- based upon public records. Makes total sense.
