So, let's see. We have this which wasn't much of a shocker really: http://gazette.com/editorial-city-wins-big-in-land-swap/article/1568991
(Pertinent info copy/pasted for you below):
"Bottom line in valuation: City trades $1.6 million in land (appraised value) + city gets $3.3 million in land (appraised value) = community gains $1.7 million in land...We applaud City Parks Director Karen Palus, Mayor John Suthers, other city officials and The Broadmoor for negotiating a wise acquisition that benefits taxpayers with a mutually beneficial swap. It is an example of good government and the private sector working together to improve the region.
the gazette"
And, there's this....Councilman King has stated in emails to constituents: “In the current trade proposal, the City will receive 370 acres valued at $3.3 million, while the Broadmoor will receive 189 acres valued at approximately $1.6 million. On paper, this swap appears to be a net win for city parks.” So, where did that data come from?
And, now reporting about valuations in Indy piece which seem to be a chasm away from appraisals now turned estimates per the article.
Huh? You should ask. Email your leaders. AllCouncil@springsgov.com
