Why this petition matters

Started by Tyrrell Foster

Please help Paul L. Freeman, son, brother, nephew, uncle, great uncle and great great uncle get back to his family by signing this petition for early release. Paul is a much loved and missed family member to some of which he's never even met, yet.

He has been imprisoned for just under 20 years between his time served in an Oklahoma correctional facility, and Colorado department of corrections for 2 counts of robbery and 2nd degree assault.
He was originally arrested on a warrant detainer in 2002 in Colorado, and was sentenced and convicted in 2004. He served 5 years of his sentence in Oklahoma (2002-2007), then was immediately transferred to Colorado Department of Corrections in 2007 to begin a 40 year sentence. His time was run consecutive, but he was not given time served for the 5 years that he served in Oklahoma.
During his time served he obtained his GED. He has obtained levels 1, 2, and 3 as an OCA (Offender Care Aid). He worked in the infirmary for 2 years as an OCA helping take care of the sick, the elderly, the physically disabled inmates, and helping comfort the terminally ill. He has also completed the mental health first aid, and became a mental health peer assistant. He has completed the 7 habits program, anger management, and has not had any misconduct or write ups in the last 12 years.
Along with writing victim impact letters, accepting responsibility, as well as showing remorse for his actions, and apologizing to those affected by them. He has also paid all of his restitution for his offenses.
During his time of incarceration he has also repented of his sin and has rededicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and is doing everything he can to grow as a Christian and to follow Christ’s leading. He has dedicated himself to the Christian Cross Road Ministry Bible Studies. He participated in SURGE by donating funds along with artwork for the victims and those affected by the shooting in Boulder, Colorado. He has participated in Denver Dream Youth by donating funds to help raise money for youth educational scholarships. He has a heart to minister the Gospel to everyone he meets and to reach out to young people who may be at risk at taking paths that lead to destruction and a life behind bars and to lead them to a life of victory in Christ.
Because of his love of food and cooking, he has also put together a series of cook books during his time and is on the way to getting them published.
Paul L. Freeman is a 49 year old man who admittedly sinned, and made poor decisions in his younger years which he has accepted responsibility for and is relying upon the finished work of Christ, trusting in Jesus to transform him to make the most of his time behind bars. He studies the Bible to learn how to live as a healthy, valuable, person. He has learned from his mistakes, and is wanting to see others set free by consistently working with those around him, whether behind the confines of prison walls, or those who remain in the free world to help bring the saving, healing and transforming power of God into their lives and encourages them in turn do the same. Disciplining disciple making disciples.
If you can find it in your heart I'm asking that you please sign this petition to free Paul L. Freeman, so that he can return to his loved ones. He is truly missed, and has served more than enough time for his trespasses. He is not a threat to society, and deserves a chance to show that he has taken every opportunity to be rehabilitated while serving his time and is ready to be a productive member of society and in life!
