Hello all-

i tried to take a walk yesterday afternoon and my experience was awful. 4 vehicles passed me hauling butt and never slowed down.  I’ve been made aware by Colleton police that if the vehicle is doing the speed limit, although rude and inconsiderate, there’s nothing they can do unless a law is broken.  Ok, so I’ve thought from the get go that 30mph on that rock/dirt road was too fast. Especially on a couple curves. Basically nothing can be done until they cause you injury.  I want to be able to enjoy my neighborhood safely including walking, riding my bike and walking my dog.  We are all tax payers for our properties and we all deserve to be able to enjoy the beauty and nature of our surroundings.  So please, if you’d also like to enjoy our neighborhood, please sign this petition to have the speed limit lowered to something reasonable and safe for everyone.
