Recently, a speech entitled "Black Lives Matter/Environmentalism" was published in the Collegiate Girls High School magazine. This grade 10 pupil must be reprimanded for the disrespective and racist tone of the speech claiming that "black lives won't matter" and that social justice shouldn't be prioritized when racism and oppression are ever present forces rotting away at our society. The pupil must receive a disciplinary hearing and attend counseling and the teacher in charge of the publication must address this issue and face racial sensitivity training or else suspension. Black lives matter. POC students shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable in their own school. We will not tolerate racism from this school any longer.
