Shippensburg University is showing no support towards students quarantined with COVID-19

The Issue

Students infected with COVID 19 are not permitted on campus until the doctor releases them. During this time while many are experience horrible side effects of the virus such as fatigue, cough, congestion, body aches, high fever, vomiting and diarrhea, many are attempting to keep up with studies.

The university professors are given the leeway on whether or not they will provide the Students notes, lectures, or even additional time upon return to take tests. Protocols aren't in place to address this uniformly. Suggestions are made by the university to these students to withdraw. Why should Students have to withdraw from the class or semester because professors don't supply covid 19 students with classroom material or provide zoom with equipment available in the classrooms?

We are paying the state-funded university for an education. The university doesn't want covid 19 students on campus, understandably. However protocols should be in place by the university for uniform procedures to address these matters across the board. Students could possibly not report symptoms of covid 19 or a positive test so they are not forced to endure possibly having to withdraw. This will lead to an increase in cases. The information needs to be shared by professors with covid 19 positive or quaratined students and zoom classes available the same as when classes were on line previously. It's discriminatory based on an illness. People continue to get covid 19 even if vaccinated.
