CofC against the opening of a Homophobic Chick-Fil-A on campus
Chik-Fil-A, a recently declared supporter of anti-gay causes, is going to open another branch on the College of Charleston campus in the fall semester of 2012. Because of its large gay population, many of the students of College of Charleston may feel this is unwise in the light of the recent "homophobic" declaration of the franchise. Chik-Fil-A has donated over $2 million to anti-gay groups, including Exodus International, a huge contributor to the "ex-gay" movement, which uses mental degradation to "cure the gay" in people, but instead, instilling self-hate and negativity [not approved by the American Psychiatric Association]. As a respected college and community, we can afford to put our support elsewhere, especially if the College of Charleston has been striving for a more diverse campus.
